Naturally, I’m not very involved in Nigerian politics because of the way things are here and how they rig. But this time, I really wanted to be involved because of how the current President (Muhammadu Buhari) was able to win against the incumbent in 2015. Since then, things have not been the same. Things were really difficult even for me, and his period really affected a lot of things. The inflation—fuel, foodstuff. It was just a movie. Obviously he went for two terms and that was eight years of my life of things being terrible. I just didn’t want that to happen again.
My preferred candidate was Peter Obi. It took a lot of stress for me to get my voters card. I was so passionate about voting this time because everybody thought this election would be different.
He’s too old.
I never thought Peter Obi was a saint, but I felt he had better ideas for the country. He’s interested in making the country better. I don’t think there is any politician that is perfect, but he had plans and even if he might not have been able to actualise everything, he would have done some things.
